WILLMAR — To build an intercultural mindset and community, Ridgewater College will host a virtual speaker series that will highlight German heritage and American racial history, as well as celebrate and honor the experiences of people of color, Indigenous people and immigrants of the United States. All are free of charge, but registration is required for Zoom links at ridgewater.edu/events/categories/dei .

German American Heritage Day: Oct. 6, 11 a.m. Jessica Gordon, the education and diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion coordinator from the German American Heritage Museum of Iowa, will explore The White Rose, a resistance group in Nazi Germany that was led by five students and one professor.

Teen lit loot: Sign up and you will receive a library book based on your interests and a bag of goodies to go with it. One per month and will need to re-register each month. October’s theme is horror.

Makerspace Equipment: Cricut, Dremel Stylo, button maker, jewelry stamping and sewing machine, equipment must be used in the library and consumable materials are not supplied.
